Monday

So I'm still suffering from jet lag and managed to wake up at an insanely early hour this morning and toss and turn for hours. The more you try to sleep the more you stay awake. You try to play mind games with yourself, try to trick yourself into going to sleep except that only makes it worse and by now you are visualising the mountain of paper and exercise books waiting to be marked on your desk. That makes you realise you really do need to sleep to be able to get through it all in the morning. Except by now you are wide awake and worrying about everything - did I lock the back door? Will I have time to get petrol on the way to school? What will I have for lunch?

I never did get back to sleep. The mountain on my desk wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, I had locked the door and and I had a cheese sandwich for lunch.

Can I go to bed yet? zzzzzz

Jet lagged

So this is my first blog. Not sure what to write or if anyone will want to read it, but here goes.
I woke up this morning at 8:17 feeling rough due to jet lag. I just got back from 2 weeks in Japan you see. No, not a holiday, a school exchange, for I am a teacher you. A perk of the job. Although I now have less than 48 hours to unpack, do my laundry, plan my lessons for next week and do a ton of other stuff.
I'm home alone. Glad not to have anyone bugging me or calling me actually. Usually I don't like being on my own, but today it suits me just fine.
I already did some laundry this morning but realised I forgot to put the washing powder in.
