What is good about winter?

Is it just me or does winter officially suck? What is the point? This time of year really depresses me. I think it's all the talk of Christmas 2 months before it happens.

I recognise that there are two sorts of people- those who love Christmas and those who loathe it. Guess which category I fall into?! All the hype and forced joviality. Yeah, it's fun for kids but apart from that, it's one day full of arguments, too much food and being given a bunch of crap that I a) have to figure out if my luggage allowance will let me bring it back home (god, imagine having to pay excess baggage for all that shite!) b) have to find somewhere to put it all in my small house (can I afford a loft conversion to house all the bath foam/ photograph frames and candles).

So that's Christmas out of the way. Then it's January and that's when Winter in the UK really starts- that's when it gets really cold and wet and dark and damp... Days pass and I don't see daylight. My skin is grey. I'm tired. I have a constant streaming nose. I can't pay my heating bill.

Please tell me what is good about Winter because I can't think of anything. We dont even get any proper snow. Just a light dusting if we're lucky.
